Weekly Devotional from The Heart of Pastor Laura...

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ‘s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit”
Galatians 6:22-25

Is Your Fruit Sweet or Sour?

Fruit is so good most times. However; have you ever bitten into a sour grape? Not good! I know that when I bite into a fruit that I expect to be sweet and it is sour, I just want to toss it away. When I come in contact with another believer I expect them to be sweet not sour. Sweet is defined as kind, gracious, pleasing and delightful. Sour is defined as harsh in spirit and temper, disagreeable and unpleasant. There have been many times that the fruit I have tasted and seen from other Christians has been sour. Thereby causing me not to desire to be around them. I myself have yielded some sour fruit causing people to stay away too! Again not good. If the Spirit of God lives in us than our lives should bear fruit of His abiding. Fruit that is sweet and pleasurable to God. If you would yield to the Holy Spirit in you He will cause you to bear fruits of righteousness. He will cause you to walk in a way that is pleasing to the Father.

Confession:

Father today as we go about this day, I pray that the fruit we bear will be pleasing to You. I pray that everything we do and everything we say will bring glory and honor to Your name. Reveal to us any fruit that is sour and displeasing. Thank You for it, in Jesus name I pray, Amen

Word to Remember:

Yield: to give up or surrender; to give up to as to superior power or authority

Speak The Word:

Speak the word: I will walk in the Spirit and bear fruit of His indwelling. I declare that everything I do and everything I say will bear fruit pleasing to my Father. “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.” Proverbs 11:30
